Things that go bump in the night!

So, I heard this
BIG THUMP
in the middle of the night.
This is what I found outside
the door this morning!
Glad I wasn't standing
near it or under it!
I thought I would just go
pick it up and toss it to the side...
...NOT...
I could barely lift it with both
hands to drag it to the compost pile!
Another experience living in the jungle!
It's still worth it!!

Geckos...

are everywhere!
little ones...big ones...
they eat the insects...
cockroaches, mosquitos, and the like.
I wish there were more geckos, because
there are still plenty of mosquitos that
love chewing on me everyday!
Just part of living in the jungle!
It's still worth it!

More Exotic Flowers

I hope no one gets tired of seeing
more flowers. I'm in awe that they
are in such abundance all around
our yard! Picking fresh flowers
has taken on new meaning!

coconut trees
lemon tree
sugar cane
cashew nut tree

The Island Car

Not really!
But these appear on the roadside
all the time! Just abandoned!
Here it is in all it's glory!
1990 Subaru Legacy...dents included!
Just what a local car should look like.
We get all kinda privileges with the
locals because of this car!

Costco had the seat covers. Cool, huh!

Pictures of my drive to and from Hanalei

This is my drive to Hanalei...
Hanalei has just about everything except Costco!
(That's in Lihue, which is an hour away.)
(Costco trips are a full day exhausting event now!)
But for trips to the post office, grocery
store, local eaterys, good clothes shopping
and church on Sunday...it's a pretty cool drive!
Takes about 10 minutes on a fairly narrow
windy road. Night time is harder because
there aren't any street lights. No traffric
lights in Hanalei either! It's a beautiful town!
It's a beautiful drive!!
