Christmas Eve Day--Pedestrian Street

This is known as "Pedestrian Street".

I love being on this street. Yes, it's busy

and crowded, but you see everything here.

You also get a a tiny glimpse of how many

people live just in Shanghai!

He's cleaning the trash can! I love it!

It's a long street, so you can take a trolley if

you want. I always walk, though. Too much to see!

Our favorite jewelry shop...

I told Larry I wasn't going to stop here...I had

plenty of jewelry...but I just couldn't help myself!

I had to stop in & say "Hi" to our friend, Linda.

She was happy to see me and said to say hi to

Captain Simpson. She is expecting a baby the

first week of January. Congratulations! Linda.

On My Way to Shanghai, China

Yeah!! I got a First Class Seat! 2A

There's nothing like a First Class Seat

on a long International Flight

(over 13 hours from SFO to PVG).

We departed SFO 12/22 @ 12:21p and

arrived PVG 12/23 @ 6:30pm

It's one of the few great perks I still get from my

36 years of being a flight attendant for

United Airlines.

First Class was empty today.

Only 5 passengers for 14 seats.

That's a good travel day!

I get my own VCR

And the food is way better than in economy!!

Sea Bass and a risotto rice and beans was my

choice for the main course.

Dessert is chocolate and vanilla ice cream

with whip cream, of course! Through in some

grapes to make it all healthy!



THEN...I got to my hotel around 8pm...(local time)

so, I went out for a bite to eat.

I ordered some noodles and chicken soup.

The Chinese use all the "parts"! The soup was

delicious! I never did figure out what the red things were, but they were sweet, not spicy.

It's been a great day!!

Brennan's Auntie Ashlee got married in the Mt. Timpanogas Temple on Dec. 6th

Coming Home...

Our journey here is finished. We are all coming home with a much deeper understanding and overwhelming respect for what Lehi's family did for each one of us living in these latter days. See you all soon!

Khor Kharfot

Another possible canidate for "Bountiful". (This one gets my vote.) As we carefully studied the Book of Mormon and looked for an even deeper description of Bountiful, (and it's all in Nephi's writings), this site was meeting them all. Although we will not know the exact location until the Lord reveals it to us, we do know that Lehi's epic journey across the Arabian desert ended on this coast within a few miles one way or the other of this beach.

We all knew and felt we were on sacred ground.

Lehi's family would have traveled through this valley which is named Wadi Sayq

(which means "river valley") to reach the great sea called Irreantum.

Our plans had to be altered because of the

dense fog and rain.
